Anna Nero
Inquire

Born in 1988, Moscow, Russia.

Anna Nero’s work navigates the intersection of abstraction, ornament, and narrative, combining thick brushstrokes, geometric grids, and playful motifs with references to design, religion, and sexuality. Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig, her paintings and ceramic objects oscillate between ironic detachment and emotional intensity, inviting viewers into a world of symbols, codes, and visual contradictions.

She has exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig, Marc Straus Gallery (New York), FeldbuschWiesnerRudolph (Berlin), CCA Andratx (Mallorca), among others. Her work is part of the G2 Kunsthalle Leipzig, the City of Frankfurt public art collection, and the State of Saxony public collection.

Nero’s practice investigates the relationship between humans and objects, the sacred and the profane, the decorative and the political. Through bold color, humor, and material experimentation, she offers a highly personal yet culturally resonant visual language.
